Bonfire Night Social!

Friday 4th November 2022

As the Autumn colours continued to fall around us, it was time once again for youth:link’s annual Bonfire Night Social! Highly anticipated, it’s a youth favourite and a great event to bring friends along to. With an action-packed evening of fun, fireworks and games planned it was set out to be an incredible time!

Blessed with clear skies, the evening started with everyone gathered round the bonfires toasting marshmallows and making s’mores. The perfect place to warm hands and chat, the bonfires made for some excellent campfire songs and stories. As well as this the youth made fruit kebabs which some decided would be even nicer dipped in the chocolate fountain!

Games

To get everyone warmed up, it was time for a couple of rounds of Capture the Flag! Split into teams, the youth battled it out to take control of the opposing team’s flag and bring it back to their own base. It was a fast-paced game with sneaky tactics being employed from both sides, including tying one of the flags to a post! In the end the winning team received a chocolate prize which was immediately made use of. We also played a game where the youth had to guess the name of a person written on a post-it-note on their foreheads. This led to some hilarious guesses!

Sparklers

Once the youth had guessed the name of their person, they were given a sparkler or two to play around with. They were amazing fun, whether it was just by waving it around in the air randomly or trying to create some more meaningful pattern or word in the sky. As the sparklers began to extinguish the thought of fireworks grew evermore in everyone’s minds.

Fireworks

It was time for the fireworks show, and youth:link was here to impress. Eyes raised upwards the youth watched on with screams of delight as explosions of colour filled the skies above.

Wrap-up

Please enjoy these compilations below of some of the photos and videos from the event!

From all of the youth:link team, we hope your children all had an amazing evening, and we can’t wait to see them again at our next event on Friday the 18th November at St Edmunds!
